2023 – The Twins beat the Astros at Minute Maid Park by a score of 6-2 in Game 2 of the ALDS. Pablo López (2-0) was the starter and winner, pitching 7 shutout innings with six hits allowed, one walk and seven strikeouts. López joined Jack Morris (G7 – 1991 WS vs. ATL) and Johan Santana (G1 – 2004 ALDS at NYY) as the only pitchers in Twins history (since 1961) to pitch at least 7 plus scoreless innings in a Postseason game. The offense recorded 10 hits and was led by Carlos Correa, who went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and three RBI. Kyle Farmer recorded his first career Postseason hit with a second
inning two-run homer. Minnesota went 2-for-6 with runners in scoring position after entering the game 2-for-22 with RISP in their previous three during the playoffs. The victory was Minnesota’s first in the Division Series since a 2-0 win at New York-AL in Game 1 on October 5, 2004. Attendance was 43,017. The Twins now head home for game 3 of the ALDS. Box Score

2002 – In the first game of the 2002 ALCS, the Twins beat the Anaheim Angels 2-1 at the Dome. Joe Mays was masterful in his first post season victory beating Kevin Appier. Mays went 8 innings allowing just four hits and one unearned run. Eddie Guardado pitched the final inning for the save. A.J. Pierzynski had a sac fly to score the Twins first run. Corey Koskie had two hits with a double and one RBI that scored the Twins second run. Box Score

1991 – The Twins take a 5-0 lead after three innings and hold on to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in game 1 of the 1991 ALCS at the Metrodome as Jack Morris gets the victory over Tom Candiotti. The Twins had 11 hits including two each by Dan Gladden, Chuck Knoblauch, Brian Harper and Shane Mack. Carl Willis pitched 2.1 hitless innings and Rick Aguilera went 1.1 innings for the save. 1987 – Minnesota already up one game to zip beats the Tigers 6-3 at the Metrodome in game 2 of the 1987 ALCS. Bert Blyleven got the win over Jack Morris and Kent Hrbek his first ALCS home run. Juan Berenguer went 1.2 innings for the save striking out four Tigers. DH Randy Bush had two stolen bases in the game. Box Score
