December 7 – This Day in Twins History

1999 – The Twins send outfielder Chris Latham to the Rockies and receive pitcher Scott Randall. Randall never pitched for Minnesota but he was 12-0 with a 3.25 ERA in AAA in 2002 and the Twins let him become a free agent at the age of 26. That said, it looks like the Twins made the right decision.

1988 – The Twins trade for second baseman Wally Backman and pitcher Mike Santiago and send pitchers Jeff Bumgarner, Steve Gasser, and Toby Nivens to the New York Mets. The only player in this trade that put on a big league uniform was Backman.

1984 – The Twins send catcher Ray Smith to the Padres and receive pitcher Floyd Chiffer.

1983 – The Twins send outfielder Gary Ward to Texas and acquire catcher Sam Sorce and pitchers Mike Smithson, and John Butcher.
