2015 – The Minnesota Twins trade outfielder Aaron Hicks to New York Yankees for catcher John Ryan Murphy.

2013 – Ending months of speculation after he sustained a season-ending concussion while catching on Aug. 19, the Twins announced Monday that Joe Mauer will be moved from catcher to first base next season. The six-time All-Star and former league MVP had caught 920 Twins games, a team record. Mauer missed the rest of the 2013 season after his August 19th injury.

1995 – Twins outfielder Marty Cordova is named American League Rookie of the Year, winning by six points over Angels outfielder Garret Anderson. Cordova becomes the fifth Twins rookie to win this coveted award.
