2022 – The Twins make another big deal, this time with the New York Yankees. The New York Yankees traded catcher Gary Sanchez and third baseman Gio Urshela to Minnesota Twins for third baseman Josh Donaldson, shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa and catcher Ben Rortvedt.

The Minnesota Twins make their second trade in two days. This time they trade potential for experience when they send 2021 first round pick (26th over all) RHP Chase Petty to the Cincinnati Reds for starting RHP Sonny Gray and Francis Peguero.

2002 – Adam Johnson the Twins first round selection in 2000 and second overall pick stormed out of manager Ron Gardenhire’s office after being cut, tearing up his assignment papers as he went. Manager Ron Gardenhire was not happy. “To me, that’s immaturity,” Gardenhire said. “The kid’s going to be a good pitcher, but he’s got to grow up. I won’t accept that. I won’t take it. But I’ll tell you what, he’ll be down the street tomorrow and he’ll have to earn his way back up here. When I walk in here tomorrow, it’s over with. If the kid throws the ball well, he’ll be back up here. He might have to do better than the next guy.”
