2022 – Twins trade catcher Mitch Garver to the Texas Rangers for shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa and minor league pitcher Ronny Henriquez.

2021 – The Minnesota Twins, in collaboration with Major League Baseball (MLB), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the City of Minneapolis, announced today that the club has received approval to welcome fans back to Target Field for the 2021 season, beginning with the April 8 home opener at a maximum capacity of 10,000.

2020 – Following a call with the 30 Clubs, and after consultation with the Major League Baseball Players Association, Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. today announced that MLB has decided to suspend Spring Training games and to delay the start of the 2020 regular season by at least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus pandemic. This action is being taken in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, Clubs and our millions of loyal fans.

The Minnesota Twins stated that:  In accordance with Major League Baseball suspending the 2020 Grapefruit League season, effective immediately, the Minnesota Twins’ remaining six home spring training games and one exhibition contest (seven total games) at the CenturyLink Sports Complex have been canceled (tonight vs. the Baltimore Orioles; Saturday, March 14 vs. the New York Mets; Sunday, March 15 vs. the Atlanta Braves; Wednesday, March 18 vs. Baltimore; Friday, March 20 vs. the Boston Red Sox; Saturday, March 21 vs. the New York Yankees and Monday, March 23 vs. the Rochester Red Wings).

 

2006 – Cal Ripken Jr., Kent Hrbek and others share humorous anecdotes during a lighthearted ceremony at the Metrodome honoring the memory of Kirby Puckett. A crowd of 15,000 Twins fans pay their final respect to their beloved Hall of Fame outfielder who died last week at age 45 following a stroke suffered the day before at his home in Arizona.
