1988 – Twins pitcher Joe Niekro is called for 3 balks and sets a dubious Twins record and ties an AL mark as the Yankees beat the Twins 7-6 at the Metrodome and Niekro is saddled with the loss. The fact that he gives up 7 earned runs on seven hits and two walks doesn’t help and he accomplished all this in just 1.2 innings. Twins batters had 11 hits and scored three in the bottom of the ninth but they came up one run short.  Box Score
