October 21 – This Day in Twins History

1987 – A six-run fourth inning provided to be the Twins undoing as the Cardinals pound Frank Viola and the Twins 7-2 and tie the 1987 World Series at two games apiece. A Tom Lawless three run home run was the big blow for the Cards. Lawless had hit two home runs in regular season play in eight years. Greg Gagne hit a home run for Minnesota. Box Score
