2020 – The Rochester Red Wings announced that their affiliation with the Twins will not be renewed for 2021. The Red Wings had been Minnesota’s Triple-A affiliate since the ’03 season. It’s unclear where the Twins’ Triple-A affiliate will be next season, as the club has not yet announced its full lineup of Minor League affiliates going forward. “Our relationship with the Twins has been a good one,” Red Wings president, CEO and COO Naomi Silver said in the release. “[Twins president] Dave St. Peter, in his call to inform me, stressed the deep appreciation the Twins have had for our relationship, and gratitude for our partnership. We will always have fond memories of our time spent as a Twins affiliate, but it’s exciting to contemplate the future in this new era of Red Wings
Baseball.” Twins prospects used Rochester as the final step of their progress toward the Major Leagues for 17 seasons until the ’20 season of Minor League Baseball was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many of those prospects took their first steps toward Minneapolis as part of the Elizabethton Twins of the Rookie-level Appalachian League,
which also officially lost its affiliation with the Twins in September following a 46-year partnership.

2017 – Minnesota Twins center fielder Byron Buxton was honored as the American League’s top defender on October 10, receiving the Rawlings Platinum Glove Award at the Gold Glove ceremony in New York. Buxton is the first Twins player to win a Platinum Glove, an award established in 2011.  Buxton was also named the 2017 Wilson Defensive Player of the Year on Friday. Buxton and Brian Dozier won Gold Gloves for the first time this year. The National League Platinum Glove winner was third baseman Nolan Arenado from the Colorado Rockies.

2014 – The team announced that Minnesota Twins players will have a new, pinstripe-free look when they take the field for rookie manager Paul Molitor in 2015. The pinstripes, which they adopted for the 1987 season — their first World Championship season — are out, and “a cleaner, more contemporary look with Kasota gold accents” will be the new standard home uniform, Twins President Dave St. Peter said. “Understanding that we introduced a throwback uniform with pinstripes five years ago, we thought that gave us the liberty to look at something without pinstripes now,” St. Peter said. “Major League Baseball introduced the Kasota gold trim for the All-Star Game, and we really liked it. The color is symbolic of the sandstone that you see in Target Field, that comes from a quarry near Mankato.” The gold serves as a “shadow” color on the team’s name on the front, and also as a stripe between the red and navy blue trim around the neck and sleeves. The color also outlines the traditional TC logo on the team’s new navy home caps; their traditional navy hats will remain as an alternative. The cream-colored throwbacks are unchanged, as are road grays, and the navy blue alternate uniform.

2010 – Minnesota Twins Announce Target Field Enhancements for 2011 Enhancements aimed at improving experience and ballpark aesthetics. Among the planned additions is a new 28′ high by 50′ wide video display board located above the right field Grandstand, a new 100′ high LED-illuminated Twins Tower will stand adjacent the new video board, additional radiant heat will be added, additional Kasota Stone will be added along the façade below the Metropolitan Club, the Twins will provide fans at Target Field with free WiFi Internet Service through what will be called the “TwiFi” network, and phase II of the Twins Tradition Wall will be installed prior to Opening Day 2011.

2002 – Twins Vice-President and General Manager Terry Ryan was voted the Sporting News Executive of the Year.
