2024 – No Twins game today, scheduled day off.
2023 – The Twins were walked-off by the 8-21 White Sox, one of the most disappointing teams in MLB this year at Guaranteed Rate Field by a score of 3-2 in 10 innings, making them 2-2 in extras this season and 3-6 in one-run games. Joe Ryan was the starter but did not factor into the decision, pitching 6 shutout innings, with one hit allowed, two walks and seven strikeouts. Jorge López blew his second-consecutive save, allowing a two-run homer to Eloy Jiménez in the seventh inning. It marked López’s first earned runs allowed of the season and first home run since September 19, 2022 at Cleveland. Minnesota scored their two runs on a Trevor Larnach sacrifice fly and a Nick Gordon pinch hit solo home run (1). The offense struck out 11 times and went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Box Score
2022 – Former Twins minor leaguer Trevor Wells was the Orioles starter and it was a scoreless pitching duel for the first four innings before each team scored one in the fifth but the Twins also scored one in the sixth and that was the difference in the ballgame as the Twins beat the Orioles at Camden Yards by a score of 2-1, making them 4-3 in one-run games this season. Chris Paddack (1-2) was the Twins starter and winner, allowing one run on four hits in 5.1 innings pitched. Joe Smith, Griffin Jax, Emilio Pagán and Jhoan Duran combined for 3.2 no-hit innings of relief. Duran earned his first career save with a perfect ninth inning and a strikeout. The Twins had seven hits with just one going for extra-bases, a double by Trevor Larnach. Jose Miranda made his major league debut, going 0-for-4. Box Score
2021 – The Twins jump on the Royals for seven runs in the third inning and add three in the sixth and three more in the eighth and end up winning the game 13-4. José Berríos (3-2) was the starter and winner, allowing four runs on six hits in 6.0 innings pitched with one walk and nine strikeouts. The offense recorded 14 hits, eight going for extra bases. Mitch Garver (5), Alex Kirilloff (4) and Andrelton Simmons (1) each homered. The attendance was 9,997, the club’s highest single-game attendance this season and eighth sellout of the year. Box Score
2020 – The Twins were going to be in Anaheim playing the Angels today but as we all know, the season thus far has been postponed/canceled due to COVID-19. Counting today it means we have missed 33 games so far.
2019 – The Twins beat the Astros 8-2 at Target Field and end their home-stand with a 6-1 record as the prepare for a road trip to New York and Toronto. Twins bats helped Jose Berrios to his fifth win (5-1) with a six run fourth inning in which they had two singles, three doubles and a triple. Catcher Jason Castro had the big stick in this game with 2 hits including a double and home run along 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. The Twins leave Minnesota with a major league-best 19-10 (.655) record, marking the first time since September 23, 2010 that the Twins held the top record in baseball (92-60, .605 at the time). Although the Twins are playing good baseball, fans are not flocking to Target Field as average attendance is running 7,345 fans per game behind last season primarily due to the cold spring this year. Box Score
2018 – The Twins shut out the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 at home when Fernando Romero (one of the Twins top pitching prospects) makes his major league debut as the Twins starter. The Twins had signed Romero as an amateur free agent at the age of 16. Romero becomes only the fourth pitcher in Twins history to keep the opponent off the board and earn the win in his big league debut. Romero is the 13th Twins pitcher to earn a win in his major league debut as a starter. Romero struck out the first Blue Jays batter (Curtis Granderson) he faced and went on to throw 97 pitches over 5.2 innings allowing four hits, three walks, while striking out five. Eddie Rosario was 2 for 4 with a home run and stolen base, and Eduardo Escobar and Joe Mauer also had two hits each. Box Score

With the game decided, Yonder Alonso the A’s first baseman added a bases empty shot off Twins reliever Michael Tonkin to ruin the shutout. Ervin Santana the Twins starter upped his record to 5-0 with 0.66 ERA. Box Score

2012 – Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jered Weaver no-hits the Twins 9-0 at Angels Stadium of Anaheim. Only two Twins reached base, one after a strikeout/dropped ball and the other via a walk. The Twins were held hitless for the first time since 1998, when David Wells of the New York Yankees pitched a perfect game against them. Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue and Nolan Ryan also threw no-hitters against Minnesota. The loss by the Twins drops them to a MLB worst 6-18. After Jerome Williams’ shutout against Minnesota on yesterday, the Twins haven’t scored in 19 innings and haven’t had a hit in the last 15. Weaver struck out nine batters and threw 121 pitches. Francisco Liriano upped his record to 4-0 for the season. Box Score
2007 – Thanks to a winning rally that starts with an infield single which is in play after hitting the second-highest “B” ring at Tropicana Field, the Rays beat Minnesota, 4-3, in 10 innings. The next day, a mannequin wearing a Twins uniform was placed near the spot where Carlos Pena’s fortunate hit struck the roof. Torii Hunter was 3 for 5 with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base but it was not enough on this day. Box Score

2001 – Metrodome fans pelted former Twins player Chuck Knoblauch with hotdogs (it was a “Dollar-a-dog” night) and other objects such as coins, plastic beer bottles and golf balls, causing umpires to pull the Yankees off the field for 12 minutes during Minnesota’s 4-2 win. Twins manager Tom Kelly strolled out to left field to plead with the fans to stop. Over 40 Twins fans are ejected from the game. Metrodome public address announcer Bob Casey lectured the crowd.
“Please stop throwing things,” Casey said. “This is an important game! Now quit this!”
“We were close to calling that game,” crew chief Dan Morrison said. “But it didn’t get to that point. It’s a gut feeling. When I feel fans are totally out of hand, then I call the game. It’s not that black-and-white.” Not one of our finer Minnesota moments. Doug Mientkiewicz was 4 for 4 and Matt Lawton was 3 for 4. Joe Mays pitched 6 good innings for the win. OH, Knoblauch went 0 for 4. Box Score

1964 – With the score tied 3-3 after nine innings the folks at Municipal Stadium get to see some bonus baseball. In the top of the 11th inning Minnesota becomes the 3rd club to hit 4 consecutive home runs in one inning. Tony Oliva, Bob Allison, Jimmie Hall, and Harmon Killebrew do the damage in the 11th-inning explosion that gives the Twins a 7-3 win at Kansas City’s Municipal Stadium. Both Oliva and Killebrew had each hit a home run earlier so they both ended up with two home runs. Gerry Arrigo pitched the last two innings for Minny and snatched up the win. Box Score
1963 – The Twins trade pitcher Jack Kralick to Cleveland for pitcher Jim Perry. Jim, the older brother of Gaylord Perry makes a fine addition to the Twins and goes on to win the AL Cy Young award in 1970.
1961 – The New York Yankees make their first ever visit to Met Stadium and the Twins jump out to a quick 2-0 lead but the Bombers score one in the fourth and another in the seventh off Twins starter Camilo Pascual and the game remains tied through regulation. In the top of the tenth inning Pascual is still on the mound and retires the first two batters but then Tony Kubek doubles and then gets wild pitched to third. Pascual walks Hector Lopez and Roger Maris which brings Mickey Mantle to the plate with the bases loaded and two out. With a 1-1 count, Pascual throws a fastball that Mantle quickly deposits deep over the center field fence for a grand slam home run and the Yanks were up 6-2. Pascual proceeded to walk Berra and that was the end of the line for Camilo. In the bottom of the 10th Harmon Killebrew homered for his third game in a row and Billy Gardner knocked in another run but that is all the Twins could score off reliever Luis Arroyo and the Twins came out on the short-end of a 6-4 game in which they had out hit the NYY 12 to 7.
