2023 – The Twins lost a strange walk-off game to the Red Sox at Fenway Park by a score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Sonny Gray was the starter but did not factor into the decision in a game in which he labored, throwing 98 pitches but allowing just one run on seven hits in 5 innings pitched with two walks and seven strikeouts. The Twins took a two-run lead in the top of the 10th without getting a hit but Jovani Moran the Twins fifth reliever of the game allowed three runs to score in the bottom half on three hits and one walk. The offense recorded just four hits, highlighted by a Max Kepler home run in the seventh inning, his second of the season. Christian Vázquez made his return to Fenway, going 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts. The three hour and seven minute game marked the longest for the Twins this season. Box Score
2022 – The Twins beat the Boston Red Sox on Patriot’s Day at Fenway Park by a score of 8-3. Dylan Bundy (2-0) was the starter and winner, allowing one run on five hits in 5.1 innings pitched, with no walks and six strikeouts. The offense recorded nine hits, as the top four in the lineup (Polanco, Correa, Urshela and Garlick) combined to go 8 for 16. 2021 – No Game today. Major League Baseball announced April 27th that the postponed games between the Angels and Twins, originally scheduled for April 17-18 at Angel Stadium, will be made up as a traditional doubleheader beginning at 1:07 p.m. (PT) on Thursday, May 20, which was originally an off-day for both clubs. The Twins will be finishing a six-game homestand, fly to Southern California for the two games, then travel to Cleveland for three.
Late yesterday MLB announced that today’s Twins game versus the Angels has been postponed .
Here is what the press release stated:
“In addition to the previous postponement of tonight’s game, Sunday’s scheduled game between the host Los Angeles Angels and the Minnesota Twins at Angel Stadium has been postponed to allow for continued testing and contact tracing involving members of the Twins organization. Major League Baseball will continue to provide updates as available.”
2020 – The Twins would have been home today playing the Detroit Tigers, but we all know the season thus far has been postponed due to COVID-19. Counting today it means we have missed 21 games so far.
2019 – The Twins had a 3-1 lead after three innings but a five run fourth inning by the BJays punctuated by a bases clearing double by recent call-up Eric Sogard sends Michael Pineda to the showers and the Twins to a 7-4 loss. Toronto takes the series 3 games to one and the Twins end their short home stand with a 3-3 record. Eddie Rosario hits two home runs and gets 2 RBI but it is not enough. Byron Buxton extended his team-record 33 straight successful stolen base attempts. Ryne Harper pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief. Box Score
2018 – The Twins won their first game outside of North America when they walked off the Indians 2-1 in the 16th inning on a Ryan LaMarre single that scored Eddie Rosario who had singled to start off the inning. The game started as a scoreless pitching duel between Carlos Carrasco of the Indians and Twins Puerto Rican native Jose Berrios. Berrios went 7 scoreless innings allowing just 3 hits and neither team scored until the 14th inning when each team scored a single run, the Twins run in the bottom of the 14th came off the bat of a Miguel Sano home run. The 19,537 fans got their money’s worth during the 16 inning five-hour and 13 minute game, the longest game in terms of time and innings played by the Twins in 2018. Box Score

2010 – Ray Barton the artist/designer who was commissioned by Twins team owner Calvin Griffith in 1961 to design a logo for the Minnesota Twins passed away at the age of 80 of cancer at his Little Canada, Minnesota home. The logo showed two baseball players (Minnie and Paul) shaking hands across the Mississippi River. Barton was paid $15 for the logo.

1978 – No game today. The game versus the Oakland A’s at the Met was rained out and will be played as part of a DH on August 11.
1969 – A crowd of 22,857 Twins fans showed up for the 1969 Twins home opener and saw Tommy “The Blade” Hall pitch a complete game 2-hit shutout as the Minnesota Twins beat the California Angels 6-0. Hall pitched so well that Angels player Jim Fregosi accused Hall of throwing a spitter. The shutout and complete game were the first in the 21-year old Hall’s short big league career. According to pitching coach Early Wynn, Hall threw 112 pitches during the game, striking out six and walking four. Cesar Tovar, Harmon Killebrew, and Tony Oliva each had two hits in the game. After starting the season 0 for 10 Oliva has had 15 hits in his last 28 at bats bring his average to .395. The Twins also stole two bases and went 6 for 11 with RISP. 1965 – Attendance was slim again as a crowd of 3,273 paid fans showed up for the Sunday game against Cleveland at the Met. Ralph Terry started the Indians and Mudcat Grant had the honors for the Twins but neither pitcher retired a batter in the fourth inning. The score was 3-2 for the Indians after three innings. The Indians didn’t add on to their three runs while Minnesota added 2 in the fourth and again in the eighth and went on to a 6 to 3 victory. Dave Boswell (1-0) who relieved Grant went 3.1 shutout innings striking out 3 and allowing 3 hits got the win while Terry (1-1) took the loss. Al Worthington went the final 2.2 scoreless innings for his first save of the season. Jimmie Hall and Jerry Kindall each hit their first long ball of the season. The 3-1 Twins now hit the road for their first road trip of the season, first stop, New York City and the Yankees. Box Score
1961 – With a brisk wind and game time temperature at 38 degrees the Twins beat the Red Sox 3-2 at Fenway Park with just 2,309 fans in the stands. Twins starter Jim Kaat goes 7.1 innings and allows just one earned run on 3 hits while striking out six. Twins center fielder Lenny Green goes 4 for 4 with a sacrifice and stolen base and Jim Lemon contributes a home run and a double as the new Twins up their record to 5-1 to start their first season.
