What’s in store behind the 2021 door

I will jump right in and say that I am very optimistic about the 2021 Minnesota Twins winning the American League Central title even though with the exception of the Cleveland Indians I see the rest of the Central Division teams improving.

As far as I know the MLB playoffs will revert to the 2019 format with five teams making the playoffs, the three division champions and two wild card teams that will face off in a one game playoff in order to advance into the division series. Having said that I also see the Twins 18 game post-season losing streak coming to an end in 2021.

With that in mind I see New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays fighting it out for the AL East title with the Blue Jays finally winning out in the end. The AL West, the weakest division in the league will see the Los Angeles Angels beating out the Oakland A’s in a hard fought race that goes down to the final few days of the season. The Chicago White Sox will take care of the Twins nemesis in the playoffs as they knock off the New York Yankees in the one game ALWC and the Yankees waste no time firing Aaron Boone.

The Twins with the best record in the AL will beat the White Sox in the ALDS while the Blue Jays beat the Angels setting up a northern climate ALCS between Minnesota and Toronto that will go seven games. The ALCS will have a happy ending for the Rocco Baldelli‘s boys but the World Series will not go so well and the Twins lose the 2021 World Series 4 games to 2. Not such a bad way to get the COVID pandemic behind us.
