Major League Debuts as Minnesota Twins – Jeff Manship

I didn’t get yesterday debut out here so we will do it today since there are no big league debuts as Twins on August 16.

Jeff Manship

Jeff Manship (P) – August 15, 2009 – Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 14th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft. Threw a clean inning of relief in his debut against the Cleveland Indians at the Dome and struck out one albeit in a losing cause..

German born Navy vet 65-68 and served aboard the Shangri La CVA-38. I run https://Twinstrivia.com, best MN Twins historical web site there is. Stop by daily and check out OTD in Twins history and much more. Live in Minnesota and Florida depending on what time of the year it is.

  1. I was there for that one.
The batter he struck our was the first he faced. Great way to start a career.
He apparently retired or could not find a job after the 2016 season, but he posted a 0.00 ERA in his post-season career of 2.1 innings.
    Good for him!

    1. I think Manship and Eric Hacker (another ex-Twin) are pitching in the Korean Baseball League for the NC Dinos. Hacker has a 10-5 record and Manship is 9-1.
