Twins record on May 18 games is 

1969 – Rod Carew steals second base, third base, and home in the 3rd inning of Minnesota’s 8-2 loss to the Tigers at the Met. Cesar Tovar who has two of the Twins four hits also steals third base and home in the same inning to tie a ML record. Detroit’s Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan are the embarrassed battery. Mickey Lolich pitches a complete game for the win and allows Billy Martin’s boys just four hits while his teammates back him with 16 hits and 8 runs. Dave Boswell takes the loss.  Box Score
