2023 – No Twins game today, scheduled day off.
2022 – The Twins beat the Oakland A’s RingCentral Coliseum by a score of 14-4, setting a season-high in runs scored in kind of an unusual game. Sonny Gray (1-1) was the starter and winner, allowing two runs on six hits in 6 innings pitched with no walks and five strikeouts against his former team. The offense recorded 14 hits and went 10-for-17 with runners in scoring position. Of the 14 hits, five were doubles and nine were singles. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last time the Twins scored as many runs without the benefit of at least one home run came in a 15-3 win vs. Milwaukee on May 21, 2010. Luis Arraez went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one walk, two RBI and a career-high four runs scored. After the game the Twins left for Kansas City where they will enjoy a day off before taking on the Royals the following day. Box Score
Twins right-hander Chris Paddack underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow this morning according to manager Rocco Baldelli. Paddack been dealing with elbow inflammation since leaving his May 8 start. It’s the second reconstructive elbow surgery for the 26-year-old Paddack, who also had a Tommy John procedure in 2016.
2021 – After trailing 4-0 after three innings, the Twins beat the Chicago White Sox by a score of 5-4 in walk- off fashion, their second walk-off winner of the season. The first four runs all came off the bat of Miguel Sanó, who homered three times with solo shots in the fourth and sixth innings and a two-run shot to tie the game in the eighth. Jorge Polanco drove in the final run and game-winner with a ninth-inning single. Bailey Ober made his major league debut as the club’s starting pitcher, allowing four runs on five hits in 4 innings pitched. The Twins bullpen combined to pitch five scoreless innings with one hit allowed. Sanó becomes the 11th Twin (13th time) to homer three times in a game. Tyler Duffey was ejected in the seventh inning for throwing behind Yermin Mercedes and was followed shortly by manager Rocco Baldelli. This was apparent retaliation for Mercedes hitting a home run a day earlier of Twins position player/pitcher Willians Astudillo in yesterday’s blowout loss to Chicago. Box Score
2020 – The Twins are back at Target Field to take on the Baltimore Orioles. But as we all know it did not happen. So far all games this season have been postponed/canceled due to COVID-19. We have now missed 48 games.
2019 – The Twins show no mercy to the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park as they win their fifth straight game when they maul the Mariners by a score of 18-4 in front of 34,433 unhappy fans. José Berríos was the Twins starter but did not factor into the decision, allowing four runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings pitched but he burned through 105 pitches. Tyler Duffey who relieved Berrios was the lucky recipient of the vulture win, his first of the season. Mariners pitchers threw 208 pitches including 14 by catcher Tom Murphy who pitched the ninth inning. The Twins offense recorded 19 hits, including six home runs, two from both Jonathan Schoop and C.J. Cron. Miguel Sanó and Byron Buxton each added a homer-a-piece. The Twins hit six home runs, already the fifth time this season they’ve hit five or more homers in a game making them the first team in MLB history to have five such games before the start of June. The Twins have scored 258 runs in 45 games, their highest total in their first 45 games of any season in franchise history (includes time as Washington Senators). Luis Arraez made his major league debut for Minnesota when he entered the game in the fifth inning playing shortstop and went 1 for 2 with a double. Box Score
2018 – The 2018 Inter league Border Battle begins with a Twins loss to the Brewers by a score of 8-3 in the land of sky blue waters. The pitching staff allowed 15 hits, the most they have allowed the Brewers since 2012. Kyle Gibson was the starter and loser, allowing five runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings. Max Kepler was 2 for 2 with a double, a home run and a sac fly for 3 RBI and third Baseman Eduardo Escobar chipped in 3 hits in four trips to the plate. Box Score

1969 – Rod Carew steals second base, third base, and home in the 3rd inning of Minnesota’s 8-2 loss to the Tigers at the Met. Cesar Tovar who has two of the Twins four hits also steals third base and home in the same inning to tie a ML record. Detroit’s Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan are the embarrassed battery. Mickey Lolich pitches a complete game for the win and allows Billy Martin’s boys just four hits while his teammates back him with 16 hits and 8 runs. Dave Boswell takes the loss. The Twins fourth loss in a row leaves them two games out of first place and they head out for a two-week east coast road trip. Box Score
1961 – A three-run home run by Marv Throneberry off Twins starter Jim Kaat in the second inning erased a Twins 1-0 lead and Kansas City A’s starter Ray Herbert pitched a complete game for his third win. Kaat went six innings and his record dropped to 1-3. 8,878 fans at the Met saw Bob Allison club his 8th home run of the season. Zoilo Versalles contributed two of the Twins seven hits. This was the Minnesota Twins first ever night game played at Met stadium and it drew less than 9,000 fans. Box Score
