Twins record on June 16 games is 


1982 – Twins rookie left-hander Frank Viola allows one run in 7 innings to record his first big league victory in a  5-2 win over the Royals at Royals Stadium in Kansas City. Tom Brunansky was 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs scored and two knocked in. Box Score

1967 – The Twins took a 1-0 lead over Cleveland in the sixth inning on a Rod Carew home run but the Indians tie the game at 1-1 in the seventh. The Twins lose to the Indians in 10 innings 2-1 on a walk-off Chuck Hinton single off reliever Al Worthington. Jim Merritt went the first 9 innings for Minnesota before being lifted for a pinch-hitter. Luis Tiant went all 10 innings for the Indians to claim the win. Twins right fielder Tony Oliva crashed into the fence chasing a Joe Azcue double and was momentarily knocked out and suffered a bruise over his right eye and an abrasion over his lip and was carried from the field on a stretcher. Oliva spent 2 nights at Shaker Heights Medical Center and then was released and he appeared in the June 18th games as a pinch-hitter and of course delivered a bases clearing double. Box Score
