2001 – William (Bill) Joseph Rigney, The Minnesota Twins fifth manager passed away at the age of 83 in Walnut Creek, California. Rigney’s record as the Twins skipper was 208 – 184. His best season in Minnesota was 1970 when he led the team to 98 wins and first place in the AL West. Obituary
