February 2 – This Day in Twins History

(click on images once or twice to make them larger)

2008 – In a blockbuster deal, Minnesota gets outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Kevin Mulvey, Philip Humber and Deolis Guerra but has to part with former Cy Young winner Johan Santana whom they could not afford to sign. The Mets got three good seasons out of Santana before injuries ended his career and the Twins really got nothing out of Mulvey, Humber and Guerra and just two seasons out of Go-Go Gomez before trading him for J.J. Hardy in November 2009.
